Re NEET UG 2026 Official Marking Scheme
Understand how NTA grades the paper, marks correct or incorrect answers, handles dropped questions, and calculates final ranks.
Core Grading Principles
The Re-NEET UG 2026 exam contains 180 questions in total. Each correct response carries 4 marks, meaning the maximum aggregate score is 720 marks.
The subjects and marks distribution are as follows:
- Physics: 45 questions (180 Marks)
- Chemistry: 45 questions (180 Marks)
- Biology (Botany + Zoology): 90 questions (360 Marks)
Negative marking is applicable. If you mark a wrong option on the OMR sheet, 1 mark will be deducted from your total accumulated marks. Unanswered questions do not attract any negative marks.
NTA Guidelines for Special Scenarios
During the evaluation process, NTA adheres to specific rules if technical errors are found in the questions:
- Multiple correct options: If more than one option is found to be correct, then all candidates who have marked any of the correct options will be awarded +4 marks.
- All options correct: If all four options are found to be correct, then +4 marks will be awarded to all candidates who have attempted the question.
- Dropped questions: If a question is found to be incorrect or is dropped, then all candidates will be awarded +4 marks for that question, irrespective of whether they attempted it or not.
